Of Dumb Pigs and Fax Machines

When fax machines came about in 1988, I was asking myself, what are they? I used to see these ads behind buses that advertises on Fax machines (from NEC back then). A bit more reading led me to understand that fax machines actually transmits a copy of the information that you put in to another person on the other line. It basically reads the data on physical paper, codes it into digital language and streams it through the phone lines to be decoded by another fax machine and then prints it on paper. Pretty nifty stuff there!

Pig may be dumb to think that way as shown below.

But I am sure there are indeed people out there who thinks the same way as pig...sigh

Nalle Püh (Pooh Bear)

I have had the rare opportunity to meet up with the Norwegian Pooh. They call him "Nalle Püh" - that's Norwegian for Pooh bear. It is an understatement to say that Pooh is smart.. coz he is not. I guess that's the result of having too much fluff in his brains. Here are some Pooh comics (non Norwegian though) that I have selected. A tribute to Nalle Püh. Enjoy.

Pearls Before Swine - A favourite comic

Stephen Pastis, the creator of Pearls Before Swine comics depicts the foolishness of this world in his comics. All that is depicted through the lives of Pig (really dumb fella), Rat (this guy is a pusher who thinks he is always right), Goat (the wise one but he'd rather keep to himself) and a few other characters.

Depicted below is a comic about Pig and Rat. Rat always gets the better of Pig and Rat has always been exploiting Pig's naiveness. Here, Pig felt a sense of achievement when he believed that he had pulled a prank, something that he had never done before in his life.... or maybe he thought he did.
